Sir Milo Butler
Sir Milo Butler, GCMG (August 11, 1906 – January 22, 1979) was a Bahamian administrator. He was appointed as the first Bahamian Governor-General on the recommendation of Lynden Pindling, prime minister of The Bahamas and leader of the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP), of which he was also a member. He was Governor General from 1973 until his death in Nassau in 1979.[1]He is memorialized with a statue located in downtown Nassau across from the Parliament House and his portrait is on the Bahamas $20 note.
The West Indian Flamingo
But This bird is the national bird of the Bahamas and symbol of the Bahamas
The West Indian Flamingo is hardly one to get confused with other birds. Its long legs, long neck and characteristic pink colour make these birds like no other. The West Indian Flamingo has a large, heavy, down curved bill that is most often described by the layperson as "strange". Adults can reach up to five feet in height.
